January 2020 Bible Series On Obedience The Importance Of Obedience

Hi Friends, Happy New Year and New Decade. May the LORD JESUS CHRIST intervene in every detail of our lives from now on. May we live to glorify GOD for the rest of our lives. Let it be a new beginning of a Holy and Righteous life for you and me, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME I pray. Amen. 

Previously we have learned that we need to worship and serve the LORD our GOD only (Matthew 4:10). 

In the book of Proverbs chapter 23 verses 4 and 5, it says that "Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle." 

We need to value and trust GOD more than we trust and value money. Money can go like that, but GOD is forever. Therefore, HE should be our first priority in life. 

The LORD JESUS said in Matthew chapter 6 verse 33, we need to seek GOD, HIS Kingdom, and HIS Righteousness, and all things we need and worry about will be added to you and me moment by moment as we continue to seek GOD. 

We have learned about the importance of obedience. As born again Christians, this obedience is not through our own efforts or works, but it is by Spirit empowerment that comes when the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD empowers you and me to obey by faith. This obedience comes through the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD leading and we obey by faith. 

The LORD JESUS CHRIST also said, if we love HIM, then we will obey HIM and HIS Commandments and Instructions. Meaning that we need to demonstrate it by our actions, and not only by our emotional feelings.
