Somebody asked me a question a while ago that “What is inside the door that The LORD JESUS said we should knock?” To be honest I didn’t know what to answer because I don’t know what scripture he or she was referring from. But the Bible records that the LORD JESUS CHRIST is the gate for the sheep and other translation says HE is the door for the sheep. And if you enter that door, which is HIMSELF, you will be saved.
The LORD JESUS is The Open Door or Gate of Salvation and has made a way of the redemption for every person who would ever live on this Earth. But each person must walk through that door of salvation for himself or herself. GOD has put that responsibility on each person whether or not we will receive JESUS CHRIST as our SAVIOR.
The LORD JESUS is also the door and gate that leads to abundant life. Through and in HIM, there is rich and satisfying life.
In the book of John chapter 10 verses 7 to 10, it records that “So HE explained it to them. I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before Me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through Me they will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
Another translation says, "So JESUS again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he or she will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
Abundant, Rich, and Satisfying life could be many things. As sheep, pasture means food and provisions for our lives. When we enter that door we will find good pastures. As HIS true sheep, we will be able to know our thieves and robbers, including wrong shepherds, and we will be protected from them. So there is protection for our lives from thieves and robbers. We will receive the total package of the Gift of His Salvation, we will be saved from all kinds of things that may be going on in our lives. HE gets to guide our lives as our Good Shepherd. There is forgiveness of our sins. There is Salvation for our souls and our lives. There is purification for our lives. There is righteous life and godliness. There is HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, the Spirit of Life Giving, and all HIS wonderful Fruits and Gifts. There is discovering of the Will of GOD for our lives, so that we can start living according to the Will Of GOD, living in GOD’S Ways that are pleasing to HIM. There is fellowshipping with GOD and an opportunity to enter and be in HIS HOLY PRESENCE regularly. There is Grace, Love, and Mercy of GOD and protection from eternal destruction. There is being made righteous with GOD. There is peace with GOD, we no longer are enemies of GOD, but HIS friends. There is Light of men, and solutions to our situations for the LORD JESUS is the Light of the World and in HIM, there is Light of Men, or Light of People. There is Resurrecting Power of GOD to resurrect people, and things that had been dead in our lives that GOD may want to revive and restore. There is Glory Of GOD and the Anointing of GOD to help you and me accomplish our godly assignments on this Earth, There is Eternal Life. There is Protection of GOD to be protected from all kinds of wicked things, and life threatening things. There are blessings of all forms, including spiritual blessings, the blessings of the Nations like that of Abraham, health blessings, financial blessings, relational blessings, territorial blessings, and many more good and godly things.
If it’s the LORD speaking into your heart today, and HE is the One knocking the door of your heart to draw near HIM and fellowshipping with HIM, then it’s a life changing opportunity, a life time opportunity to turn your life around and make things right with GOD. He said in the book of Revelation chapter 3 verse 20 that "Here I am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
Its about the LORD JESUS providing you and me with the new birth and the remission of sin. Because of the LORD JESUS sacrifice on the Cross, we can receive Eternal Life and become new creatures in HIM (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We have to understand that only GOD is eternal and everything else can become temporary. The material things we are trying so hard to possess, they are temporary, just like our physical bodies on this Earth are. They are meant to help and sustain you and me on this current life we are living now, and we only need them while we are on the planet Earth. They should not be the center of our lives, to take the place of GOD in our lives.
It is by GOD’S Grace, Love, and Mercy that we even have these blessings of Life. When we came into this World, we found them. After we are done with our assignments on Earth, Life will still continue. And GOD will continue to be GOD.
In the book of John chapter 3 verse 16 it says that “For GOD so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that HE [even] gave HIS [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in HIM [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
It’s very clear that only those who will be in GOD’S side and HIS Son are the one who will not perish, and will have eternal life. If you have read the story of Noah and the Ark from the Old Testament Bible (please read the book of Genesis from chapter 5 verse 32 to chapter 10 verse 1), and GOD somehow has given you the grace and open your eyes to see HIS plan for the World then you will know that the LORD JESUS CHRIST is the real ark of the New Testament and GOD’S Covenant that is bringing and will be bringing people into a safety place. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the Light and Salvation of the World.
GOD’S plan to save the World is through HIS Son JESUS CHRIST. HE even made sure to Name HIS Son, JESUS with a meaning “the LORD is Salvation (Matthew 1:25)” and “Immanuel meaning GOD is with you and me (Matthew 1:23)” so we won’t forget Who HE is at the sound of HIS NAME. The life that pleases GOD, the godly righteous lifestyle, is found through HIS Son JESUS CHRIST. And only those who will be in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who have accepted and invited HIM in their hearts and lives to be their LORD and Savior (Messiah) by faith, will be saved and live eternal. HE is the Lamb of GOD Who was slayed on the Cross for the ransom of our sins (John 1:29). In the book of John chapter 14 verse 6, it also says “HE is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through HIM.”
There are some things going on in the World that GOD is not pleased with. Sin, or a sinning way of life, did not just start in our today. It started a long time ago, before you and I, were born. In the book of Genesis chapter 6 verse 5 for instance, it records that “The LORD saw that the wickedness (depravity) of man was great on the Earth, and that every imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually.” This was during the time of Noah and the Ark, when GOD caused the rain to fell upon the Earth for forty days and forty nights, and only those with Noah in the Ark were saved.
But the Bible also records after the event of Noah and the Ark, in the book of Genesis chapter 9 verse 11, GOD promised that “Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the water of a flood, nor shall there ever again be a flood to destroy and ruin the Earth.” (Read Genesis chapter 9 verse 8 to 17).
GOD had a plan to save humanity, from our sins. And this plan was going to be fulfilled through HIS Son JESUS CHRIST. To show everyone how to live like a child of GOD, to take away sin, and saves everyone from it and its consequences.
Apostle Paul said in the book of Ephesians chapter 1 verses 3 to 5 that redemption in CHRIST was something GOD planned before the foundation of the World. He said, “Blessed be the GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHO has blessed you and me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in CHRIST, just as HE chose you and me, in HIM before the foundation of the World, that we should be Holy and without blame before HIM in love, having predestined you and me to adoption as sons by JESUS CHRIST to HIMSELF, according to the good pleasure of HIS Will.”
In the book of Mark chapter 8 verses 36 and 37, and Matthew chapter 16 verses 26 and 27, The LORD JESUS asked these very important questions, “For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole World [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his Soul (Life)? For what will a man give in exchange for his Soul and Eternal Life [in GOD’S Kingdom]? Another translation says, “For what does a man have if he gets all the World and loses his own Soul (Life)? What can a man give to buy back his Soul?”
It is also recorded in the book of Matthew chapter 19 verses 23 to 30, quoting from the Message Bible Translation that “JESUS told His disciples, “Do you have any idea how difficult it is for the rich to enter GOD’S Kingdom? Let Me tell you, it’s easier to gallop a camel through a needle’s eye than for the rich to enter GOD’S Kingdom.” The disciples were staggered. “Then who has any chance at all?” JESUS looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the World if you trust GOD to do it.” Then Peter chimed in, “We left everything and followed YOU. What do we get out of it?” JESUS replied, “Yes, you have followed Me. In the recreation of the World, when the Son of Man will rule gloriously, you who have followed Me will also rule, starting with the twelve tribes of Israel. And not only you, but anyone who sacrifices home, family, fields, and whatever because of Me will get it all back a hundred times over, not to mention the considerable bonus of eternal life. This is the Great Reversal: many of the first ending up last, and the last first.”
In the Amplified Bible translation it says, “JESUS said to HIS disciples, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it is difficult for a rich man [who clings to possessions and status as security] to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man [who places his faith in wealth and status] to enter the Kingdom of GOD.” When the disciples heard this, they were completely astonished and bewildered, saying, “Then who can be saved [from the wrath of GOD]?” But JESUS looked at them and said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible.” Then Peter answered Him, saying, “Look, we have given up everything and followed YOU [becoming Your disciples and accepting YOU as Teacher and LORD]; what then will there be for our lives?” JESUS said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, in the renewal [that is, the Messianic restoration and regeneration of all things] when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you [who have followed Me, becoming My disciples] will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My Name’s sake will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first [in this World] will be last [in the World to come]; and the last, first.”
The Bible is like a sitemap, or a manual book that was put together to help and inform you and me. It has so much to teach about GOD, HIS Kingdom, HIS Righteousness, and ourselves. It contains the Word of GOD, information, instructions, wisdom, and knowledge for our benefit. It tells you and me about GOD Sovereign Will for our lives, some of HIS plans for our present and future. The Bible also reveals the many promises of GOD for everyone who will believe and claim those promises for themselves and their loved ones, so that they can live in a way that pleases GOD, and to their full potentials.
One of the promises for instance, is in the book of John chapter 15 verse 7, the LORD JESUS said, “If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.” From this scripture, the LORD promised to answer our prayers when we abide in HIM and rely on HIS strengths. When we put HIS Word first place in our lives and honor HIM in all that we do, whatever we ask HIM in prayer, it could be a need, or a question, provision, it will be done for you and me. In other words, when we choose to do things GOD’S way, we may ask HIM for anything, and it will be done for you and me. The Bible also contains so much GOD promises that offer solutions to our problems that we are facing, but also offers comfort, relief, and hope for everyone. If you read it, the Bible could be the beginning step to start fellowship with the LORD so that HE could tell your customized answer of what is inside the door HE said we should knock. You can get Bible reading plans online for you to follow and start reading it. You can just open the Bible and start reading the Four Gospels in the New Testament, which are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
You can also listen to Sermons and Bible teachings, and as you keep on listening, GOD will speak to you personally. You can pray for GOD to guide you and to answer your question, and reveal HIMSELF to you and what is inside the door HE said we should knock.
In the book of Matthew chapter 7 verses 7 to 8, it says, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
My prayer to GOD is that we may see and enter HIS Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven. And may the clinging to possessions and status as security never be a hindrance for you and me, and all our loved ones to enter the Kingdom of GOD, or the Kingdom of Heaven. But also may GOD help you and me, and all our loved ones to put our faith in HIM instead of wealth and status. I pray in the Mighty Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
