April 2022 Having A Good Success In Biblical Terms

In this life success isn't necessarily about how popular, influential, or educated someone is. Success is about living a life of excellence in obedience to GOD, and His Instructions, His Word. When we step out to do what GOD has called you and me to do, Scripture says, we are setting ourselves for success. We are positioning or repositioning our lives to have a successful life in Biblical terms.

Living a life of excellence based on the Word of GOD or in obedience to GOD, that is what success is.

It's possible to succeed in something, to have done something of sense of accomplishments in your life, but if not based on the Word of GOD, also known as Wisdom Of GOD, instructions and principles of GOD, you are probably not successful as you really think are.

Let's see a few of Bible passages and learn what Scriptures says about success in godly terms. We will start with the book of Joshua chapter 1 verses 1 to 9, it says that;

GOD Commission to Joshua

After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you, do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your GOD is with you wherever you go.”

There are three things that we can learn from the Bible passage for you and me to implement into our lives so that we will have a good success.

The first one is that when GOD Almighty, our Heavenly FATHER GOD is with you and me, we have a chance to succeed in life. It’s when GOD says HE is going to endorsing you and me, HIS Presence is with you and me, we have assurance to being successful in that what GOD has assigned, said, and commanded you and me to do and accomplish.

GOD told Joshua that “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” What an assurance and a wonderful thing to know that GOD is with you and not against you.

In fact Joshua already knew GOD capabilities, because he saw what GOD did through Moses when HE delivered them from Egypt. Joshua knew that his success to the assignment GOD just gave him, was totally dependent on GOD. HE even told Joshua to not be afraid and not to be dismayed. Perhaps GOD knew the challenges Joshua was going to face was going to intimidating him. Therefore GOD warned him ahead of time by encouraging him not to be afraid or dismayed, because HE has GOD on his side to help him. GOD will equip and guide him even when he feels intimidated or unqualified. HIS winning and Israelites victory dependent on GOD and the instructions HE gave him.

We learn through Joshua that in order to succeed in life, we need to believe GOD and obey HIS Instructions.
Our success, our miracles, our rewards, are on the other side of instructions we have been given by GOD.

The LORD JESUS promised to be with you and me always in the New Testament. In the book of Matthew chapter 28 verses 18 to 20, it says, “And JESUS came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The LORD JESUS also promised that the HOLY SPIRIT Of GOD will be with you and me forever. In the book of John chapter 14 verses 16 to 20, HE said, “And I will pray the FATHER, and HE will give you another Helper, that HE may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees HIM nor knows HIM, but you know HIM, for HE dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see ME no more, but you will see ME. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in MY FATHER, and you in ME, and I in you. He who has MY commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves ME. And he who loves ME will be loved by MY FATHER, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. Judas (not Iscariot) said to HIM, “LORD, how is it that YOU will manifest Yourself to some, and not to the world?” JESUS answered and said to him, “If anyone loves ME, he will keep MY Word, and MY FATHER will love him, and WE will come to him and make OUR Home with him. He who does not love ME does not keep MY Words, and the Word which you hear is not MINE but the FATHER WHO sent ME.”

Therefore, as GOD fearing born again Christians and disciples of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, we have an assurance that GOD is always with you and me. But then we need to keep GOD Words, we need to obey the Words we have been instructed by GOD.

This brings you and me to the second thing that we need to do in order to set ourselves up for success in Biblical terms. We need to hearken or listen to the Voice of GOD, and obey what we have heard. HE told Joshua, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Now we know, if there is a good success, then it looks like there is a bad success. And the difference is that the good success is based on GOD's Way of being successful and doing things.

One of the ways GOD speaks to you and me, is when we read, listen, and meditate on HIS Word, teachings, and instructions. HE told Joshua to meditate on the Word, day and night. So as we read the Bible, or listening to Faith messages with Scriptures, and meditate on GOD’S Word day and night, GOD get to speak to you and me. When we hear and obey what we have been reading, meditating, and listening, we will have a good success.

The third thing we learn and need to do in order to become successful in godly terms, is we need to speak the Word of GOD. We need to speak on that we have been meditating on.

GOD told Joshua that “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

We see three things. Shall not depart from your mouth. Shall meditate on it day and night. Shall observe to do according to all that is written in it, or in other words, shall implanting the instructions that is written in it.

And then it continued on saying, “For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” When you do all the three above, one you will make your way prosperous, and two, you will have good success.

We will have what we say or speak. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs chapter 18 verse 21 that "The power of the tongue is life and death, those who love to talk will eat what it produces."

Eventually we will have what we say or speak. Therefore we need to monitor what we speak to ourselves and others. When we meditate on the Word we train our thoughts patterns to align with GOD’S Word and instructions, which will influence the words we speak to ourselves and others to align with GOD’S Word and instructions, and our actions also to align with GOD’S Word and HIS instructions.

In the book of Mark chapter 11 verse 23, The LORD JESUS said, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea’ and does not doubt in his heart [in GOD unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with GOD’s will]."

So faith speaks. When we speak and believe what we say is going to take place, it will be done for you and me in accordance with GOD's Will. Therefore, if we speak the The WORD of GOD, HIS teachings and promises, since it is HIS Will for our lives, and believe it will happen, and take GOD for HIS WORD and Faithfulness, then it will be done for you and me.

But then we should meditate in it day and night. When we keep reading and listening about something over and over again, and keep thinking about it in our minds and hearts, it will be very easy to speak and do what it says, because it is constantly in our minds and our hearts.

We are renewing and transforming our minds to align with the Will Of GOD when keep meditating on what GOD says. When we keep reading and listening the instructions and wisdom of GOD over and over again, we will observe to do according to what is written in it.

We will obey, do, and implementing GOD'S teachings into our lives, and eventually make our way prosperous, and eventually we will have good success.

We need to live our lives according to GOD's teachings and wisdom.

Another Bible Passage is from the book of Psalm chapter 1 verses 1 to 3, Scripture says that,

Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by GOD] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example],
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers).
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.
And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].

We are setting ourselves up to succeed and prosper when we walk in the counsel of the godly, when we stand in the path of righteousness, when we follow the advice and examples of GOD'S precepts and teachings, delight in them, make a habit to meditate on it day and night. When we do that our lives will be like trees firmly planted and fed by streams of water which yields their fruits in their seasons, their leaves do not wither. And then because of that in whatever we do, we prosper. Why we prosper? Because we live according to what it says.

The LORD JESUS said that we need to build our lives on the foundation of HIS teachings and instructions, GOD'S Wisdom. If our lives are buildings, and we build them based on the WORD of GOD, and live a life of excellence in obedience to GOD'S WORD, then we are like wise builders who have built our lives, on the solid rock foundation.

In the book of Matthew chapter 7 verses 24 and 25, HE said “Therefore everyone who hears these words of MINE and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

GOD backs up HIS WORD, teachings, and foundations. It's better to hook up with GOD, and do things, and live life on HIS Ways of doing and operating things. Only then we are guaranteed of good success.

I pray that what we have learned will be our portion. We shall have a good success based on the Scripture way of defining success. May we have a good success in every area of our lives. May our godly destinies result into good success. May our lives result into good success. May our spiritual lives result into good success. May our relations result into good success. May our ministries, businesses, careers, jobs, organizations, result into good success. May our health result into good success. I pray to GOD OUR HEAVENLY FATHER in the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
