January 2022 What Foundations Are You Built On

The LORD JESUS said we should build on HIS Foundation. We should build our lives and everything of our endeavors in every area of our lives on GOD Foundation.

When we build and live our lives based on The LORD JESUS instructions and HIS Words, HIS Godly Wisdom, Revelation, Knowledge, and Understanding, we become wise builders because we build on the rock solid foundation which is centered and founded based on the LORD JESUS CHRIST Himself, on GOD’S Foundation, which even if they will try to shake that foundation it ends up being unshakable.

In the natural, when we think of the solid or rock foundation, we know that in order for it to be called solid or a rock, this foundation must be firm and is able to support something, such as a building, and to sustain it for a really long time. That’s why buildings such as houses, apartments, office buildings and so on when they are built, the builders make sure the foundations of those buildings are built properly. Why? Because without solid foundations, those building would never last for a really long time if their foundations are not strong enough to sustain them, they will eventually collapse due to environmental pressure, and all the activities and movements that will be going on in that building during that period of time.

The same thing with our lives, we are like buildings. And each one of us is built on some kind of foundations that are offered in this life. These foundations were here before we came to this earth, we inherited them, and got introduced to them by the people in our lives and the influence they have in our lives. Eventually we adopted them as our own as we grew up and came to believe and practice them. Therefore they became the foundations that we put our hopes, trusts, and values.

Depending on each individual, we may differ on the kinds of foundations we have built our lives on. This is due to how we have been raised, our backgrounds, life experiences, our beliefs, and our perception about life.

There are people who believe money is everything. There are some people lives are built on the money foundations. Money is the center focus of their lives. Money is basically their master. They are constantly living to have more money. They look at it as their source of security and meaningfulness in their lives. Therefore, when that money goes away, they will have really hard time to survive in life because they have put their hopes there. To them their mentality basically is more money more good life.

Rich or poor, whether we have money or not, we need to make sure our lives are built on the right foundation, the solid rock, which is GOD. We can’t serve two masters, we can’t serve GOD and money at the same time, we will love one and hate the other. We have to choose GOD as our first priority and our foundation above every other foundation the world has to offer. GOD is our source of everything in our lives and HIS ways and methods of obtaining our needs and wants are what we prefer.

Whether we are poor or rich, we are loved and still valuable to our GOD and our loved ones. We don’t have to base our worthiness on how much money we have in order to be accepted by others, or to feel we are living and not just existing.

There are people who are wealthy, but they are constantly sick, they live in constantly fear and worry, or they have no peace in their hearts and minds. Money is not everything in this life. Yes, its needed because we use it to buy and sell, but its not everything. GOD is everything.

There are people who build their foundations on possessions. They think having more possessions and stuff is having more happiness and acceptance. They collect things; expensive collectibles. More fancy cars, shoes, clothes, paints, and so on. And the more they collect, the more they think they will be happy. In fact some of them, they get credit cards, they go on huge debt, to buy and collect those possessions. And unfortunately those things end up collecting dust, because they don’t even use them. I know what I’m talking about because I used to be them. Sometimes I tell myself, if I could only turn the clock back, knowing what I know today, perhaps things would have been different for me in my today. It’s not wise to go on debt to buy more clothes, or use your credit card to pay for your drinks at the night club to fit in with peer pressure. Sometimes we only learn after we have experienced it ourselves.

There are people who build their foundations on fame or popularity. They want to be famous and center of attention. They would even act unwisely and join occultism societies to get them wicked sources of help to make them famous and popular.

These are just few examples. My question is that what foundations are you built on and relying on in your life?

GOD loves you and me. And HE wants you and me to live well and have those things that the unbelievers are after. HE said in Matthew chapter 6 verses 25 to 34 that,

“This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life, for all that you need will be provided, such as food, water, clothing, everything your body needs. Isn’t there more to your life than a meal? Isn’t your body more than clothing? “Consider the birds, do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your HEAVENLY FATHER provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your FATHER than they? So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life? “And why would you worry about your clothing? Look at all the beautiful flowers of the field. They don’t work or toil, and yet not even Solomon in all his splendor was robed in beauty like one of these. So if GOD has clothed the meadow with hay, which is here for such a short time and then dried up and burned, won’t HE provide for you the clothes you need, you of little faith? “So then, forsake your worries. Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your HEAVENLY FATHER already know the things your bodies require? “So above all, constantly seek GOD’S Kingdom and HIS Righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”

GOD knows that HE if we don’t put HIM, the only firm foundation for our lives, in the end we may get hurt, because the wickedness ways of living and obtaining things usually lead to destruction some way or another.

But also if we build our lives on any other foundations that do not involve GOD, when the storms of life come we may not be able to endure if GOD is out of the picture. Everything we build our lives as foundations outside GOD is temporary, only GOD is permanent. Other foundations are not firm enough therefore they can collapse anytime when push comes to shove. GOD is only our Strong Tower. In fact the LORD JESUS said when we build our lives on HIS Foundation, in HIS WORDS, we are like wise builders.

In the book of Luke chapter 6 verses 46 and 49, the LORD JESUS said “But why do you call Me ‘LORD, LORD,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

When we build our lives and everything about our lives on the rock and solid foundation, it means we are listening to the LORD JESUS Words and teachings, keep them in our hearts, do what HE says, and basically live what HE says. It means we need to hear and implement into our lives the LORD JESUS CHRIST Words, which basically is GOD’S WISDOM, as our daily guidance to guide our lives. When we do that we become built by HIS teachings, instructions, knowledge, revelation, and wisdom which will help you and me to live a life that please GOD.

In this world we are living in, there are two kinds of systems, the corrupted one which is the world system, and the godly system which is the Kingdom Of GOD system. The Kingdom Of GOD has its own ways of obtaining, doing, and operating things which is very different from the world system. When we follow GOD’S Ways of doing and obtaining things we need and want, we are building our lives on wise and solid foundations. And we don’t have to worry of their foundation when they are shaken, because GOD’s Foundations are right foundations and are unshakable even when shakable.

The LORD JESUS didn’t say storms will not come when we obey HIM and implementing HIS Word of knowledge, wisdom, and revelation in our lives. HE promised that regardless of what may come on our way if we are built on HIS Foundation, we will be like wise builders. The storms of life won’t be able to be ruin you and me because our hope and trust is in HIM, and we are built on the Rock which is HIM. When the storms of life come, they won’t be able to finish you and me because our hope and trust is in GOD.

In the book of Luke chapter 16 verses 19 and 31, there is this story of the rich man and Lazarus, and it says that,

JESUS continued. “There once was a very rich man who had the finest things imaginable, living every day enjoying his life of opulent luxury. Outside the gate of his mansion was a poor beggar named Lazarus. He lay there every day, covered with boils, and all the neighborhood dogs would come and lick his open sores. The only food he had to eat was the garbage that the rich man threw away. “One day poor Lazarus died, and the angels of GOD came and escorted his spirit into paradise. “The day came that the rich man also died. In hell he looked up from his torment and saw Abraham in the distance, and Lazarus was standing beside him in the glory. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham. Father Abraham. Have mercy on me. Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and come to cool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames of fire.’ “But Abraham responded, ‘My friend, don’t you remember? While you were alive, you had all you desired. You surrounded yourself in luxury, while Lazarus had nothing. Now Lazarus dwells in the comforts of paradise and you are in agony. Besides, between us is a huge chasm that cannot be bridged, nor can anyone cross from one realm to the other, even if he wanted.’ “The rich man continued, ‘Then let me ask you, Father Abraham, please send Lazarus to my relatives. Tell him to witness to my five brothers and warn them not to end up where I am in this place of torment.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They’ve already had plenty of warning. They have the teachings of Moses and the revelation of the prophets; let them hear them.’ “ ‘What if they’re not listening?’ the rich man added. ‘If someone from the dead were to go and warn them, they would surely repent.’ “Abraham said to him, ‘If they wouldn’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither would they be convinced if someone were raised from the dead.’ ”

The rich man built his life on money and luxuriously lifestyle, unfortunately all his possessions and wealth couldn’t comfort him in his afterlife. It’s not because of his wealth that’s why he ended up to hades or hell. It’s because he didn’t believe in GOD and HIS Prophets, and repented, and changed his lifestyle. Though Lazarus was poor, his life was built on GOD’S foundation. HE believed GOD and HIS Prophets. He chose to obey GOD, repent, and live godly lifestyle, whether he had money or no money to meet his needs each day.

We have been given this choice too. The LORD JESUS CHRIST had advised in HIS Word that we are to build our lives on HIS Solid Rock Foundation. It’s up to you and me to decide on which foundations are we going to build our lives upon.
